Covid-19 vaccine update: Bahrain gives the nod to Pfizer, India’s purchase will cover 60% of the population, Moscow begins mass vaccination and hand sanitizer uses.


After the United Kingdom gave a nod to the emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine, the worldwide race for vaccinating people has become more intense. After the UK, Bahrain has become the second nation in the world to grant emergency authorization for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has warned that vaccines will not be any “magic bullet” to handle the ongoing crisis, hammering home the need for continuing with the Covid-19 appropriate behavior even after countries start vaccinating their people. India has emerged as the largest buyer of Covid-19 vaccines considering the millions of doses of Oxford-Astrazeneca, Novavax, and Sputnik V candidates it has purchased.
